Zelenskyy demands 50-year sanction against Iran

UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the parliament to slap additional sanction against Iran for 50 years.

The Verkhovna Rada, otherwise known as the Supreme Council of Ukraine approved a decision to impose economic and other restrictive measures against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A total of 328 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of Resolution No. 9333.

The bill introduced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy demanded the imposition of sanctions on Iran for a period of 50 years.

The restrictive measures include a complete ban on trade operations, termination of the transit of resources, flights, and transportation in the territory of Ukraine, and prevention of the withdrawal of assets by residents of Iran.

The measure also prohibits any investment in Iran and the transfer of technologies as well as rights to objects and intellectual property rights by residents.

Ukraine has accused Iran of sending weapons, including hundreds of drones to its ally Russia, since the start of the invasion last year.

Tehran strongly rejected the allegations.
